We are sincerely thankful to everyone who has prayed for my baby girl Leah Dukes getting baptized. A Leah_Dukes_Baptism_2.jpgspecial thanks to Theresa Delbridge who initially began character studies with Leah last year, "you're an awesome sister and friend, thank you." Also to Sherie and Dionne for really assisting us as parents and drawing out a shy heart that truly wants to know God.

Let us continue to pray for everyone listed on the November prayer list for baptisms, and all who are placed on our hearts whom God has put in our path.

Much love,
Dink

Seeing your child get baptized is the greatest feeling a parent can experience! We've been praying for our son, Chase Blackburn, since we were baptized in 1995. It's been a long road with many moves and lots of ups and downs, but it's so good to know that God works in spite of us and that He wants our children's hearts far more than we do. We're so proud to see our awesome son say "Jesus is Lord!"  Thank you Campus ministry for never giving up on him!

Fired Up Moms

Sunday August 19th was a very special day for the Greater Baltimore Church of Christ.  The mothers of two adult women in the church were baptized.

Deb_Fitzgerald.jpgDebby Fitzgerald, 52, lost her husband last July. Her daughter Beth 26, a disciple for the past 3 years, along with family, friends and a whole lot of church family she didn't know, we're there to support her along the way. Soon after her husband's death Debby started to attend the GBCOC. A short time later she began studying the bible with Annette Logan, Jennifer Lambert and Fran Karastamatic.  Debby went back to work driving a school bus while coming to church and studying the bible.  This summer Debby needed knee surgery and Beth and several sisters were there for her again.  After much study and soul searching Debby knew she was ready to commit her life to Jesus.

Diane_Cole.jpgDiane Cole, 68 lost her husband last November. After his passing she visited her daughter Julie Harrington, in May of this year. Julie has been a disciple for 16 years along with her husband Fred and their two sons, Kyle and Nathan. Their son Corey is currently studying the bible. Diane came to church and immediately noticed how different it was from any church she had attended before. Diane became interested in studying the bible; but needed to return to Port Huron, MI. and didn't start the process.  She was then hospitalized twice with a life threatening illness which prolonged her stay in Baltimore. Her recuperation further extended her stay and gave her a sense of urgency. She studied with Tamara Adson, Bonnie Zeitler, Cherie Jenkins for three weeks before being baptized.  The extra time Diane spent here convinced her that this is where she needs to spend the rest of her life. The day after her baptism she returned to MI to make arrangements to move back to Baltimore permanently.

We serve an awesome God.
